What is Rolfing?
Rolfing® is a system of Structural Integration and manual therapy developed by Dr Ida Rolf over 50 years of study.
It is an original and scientifically proven system of body restructuring and movement education, which releases the body from lifelong patterns of tension and bracing, and allows the force of gravity to realign the body’s segments.
The Rolfing series is designed to uncover a structural ease and balance that is unique to each client.
The Rolfing Series
The Rolfing 10 Series of sessions is governed by goals and principles unique to the relevant stage in the unfolding Rolfing process.
Each session and/or series of sessions has specific outcomes that suggest a direction towards lasting change – building on the outcomes of the previous session while laying the foundations for the needs of the next session.
rolfing + FASCIA
Dr Rolf called fascia the “organ of structure”.
The role of fascia as a whole body system has the capacity to alter movement patterns far from the sight of any restriction.
This was to Dr Rolf an important component to creating lasting structural and postural change – leading to a body that tends towards economy and ease of movement, rather than what Dr Rolf would call a ‘Random’ body – Struggling to find peace with itself.
